1st To Die by James Patterson

This was a re-read for me, as it's been a few years. I decided to read this again because I was interested in one of the newer ones. But I noticed differences and my OCD just couldn't handle the out of sequence.

One thing I enjoy about this book is that it doesn't require a lot of brain power. The villain was creepy, but the 4 women all made my day that much better. It made me wish I had girlfriends like that. What I didn't know, this time around, was that there was an attempt at a television series. I am a firm believer that television shows die because of the networks that are shown on. I know that each network brings new shows to up their ratings, but here are the facts. If people don't like you, than it doesn't matter what you show, they simply aren't going to watch it or they will wait so they can stream it/rent it somewhere else. With that said, I watched the series on youtube and it was good. I loved Angie Harmon as Lindsey Boxer (and that's be honest she was perfect as Jane Rizzoli. That's just who she is), and Paula Newsome was a great Claire Washburn. I would have liked the series to follow the books a little more, and I firmly believe that might have been another strike against them.

I read use book using Audible's Immersion Reading. It was nice to follow along, but it also made it easier on my daily commute and while I was working. If you haven't tried the Immersion Reading and have a busy schedule like me, then I highly recommend it. Some narrators are better than others but if it gets you into reading, then go with what works.

I have to rate this 4 out of 5 stars, because it was pretty easy to see the killer and some of the plot. I gave it a higher rating for the strong women (each in a separate field), and the overall humanity of the work. Plus it was an easy read.
