I was given a free e-copy of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion. I have never read anything from Casia Pickering before, and now I will.
In this anthology are eleven fast paced short stories that Casia could make into eleven separate novels. Each touches on a different genre from romance to horror, but each has a different interpretation of fear and sacrifice. Casia's creativity in exemplified in her writing as I found myself wanting to go to the festival in Teasing Over Turnovers (I also wanted a turnover), or pulling the blankets close to escape the goose bumps created from reading Love's Cry. My favorite though was Marooned in Missouri, because it was one that I related to. Casia has a well executed understanding of human nature.
There are some grammatical and formatting errors, but nothing that takes away from the stories or the feelings they invoke.
I rate this novel 4 out of 5 stars.
